NDIS Personal Mobility Equipment

The NDIS will support funding for devices that make it easier for participants to move around their homes and communities. Increasing mobility is one of the most essential things people with disabilities can do to reach a high level of independence. It has a significant impact on obtaining and keeping work, connecting with the community, and staying active and healthy.

The NDIS separates personal mobility equipment into five subgroups:

  • Transfer Equipment
  • Walking Equipment
  • Specialised Strollers
  • Wheelchairs and Scooters
  • Seating/Wheelchair Equipment
